Here’s a quirky truth:
I’m a Psychic Medium, but I’m also a lifelong skeptic—yes, even about other psychics (and sometimes myself!).

Spirit actually encourages this balance, because a little skepticism keeps things real and helps intuition stay sharp. Not every spiritual advisor is as genuine as they seem, so it’s smart to approach any reading (including mine!) with an open mind and a healthy dose of doubt.
Trust your instincts about what feels true, but don’t slam the door on ideas that don’t make sense right away. Sometimes, the things we resist end up making perfect sense later.
The real magic?
Stay curious, question what you hear, and let your own experience be the guide. It’s all about finding that sweet spot between open-mindedness and discernment!

So how do we spot these scammers?
Here’s 6 tips and tricks to keep in mind when when looking for a psychic reading.

If the psychic approaches you first. Be wary.

If someone claims you or a loved one are in danger, cursed, or burdened by past lives—and suggests only they can help for a large fee—they're trying to scare you into a reading. No matter how convincing they seem, you don't need their help; they're not telling the truth.
Scammers try to make you emotional so you stop thinking logically and give in to their demands. The easiest way to avoid this is to refuse them from the start.

Always make sure the psychic is upfront
with the costs of the reading.

Most psychics have a set fee such as $50 for 30 minutes. If a psychic doesn’t make their costs easily known to you before a reading then you should definitely think twice before working with them. Some will add fees on as you go, for various things you didn’t even know were possible or agree to. Just like any other business, it is smartest to trust the ones that are upfront with you and not the ones that leave you guessing.

Be careful of psychics who promise
to make things happen.

Anyone claiming they can guarantee a spirit's presence or make someone fall in love is likely a scammer. Only spirits decide if they'll appear, and free will means nobody can force another to love. If such events happen, it's not because of psychic intervention. Reputable psychics won't promise what they can't deliver—scammers may manipulate you to make it seem true.

Now this one is a bit of a catch 22. Some days Spirits are really vague and refuse to give good answers or rely on the cliche. And psychics that are new to giving readings tend to rely more on your reactions to feel more confident in themselves. So there are some times that these things can be legit.
If a reading has more vague answers than clear ones and the psychic is acting like its normal, question its accuracy. Respectable psychics are usually honest to you if they aren’t getting a good connection or if the answer requires vagueness due to the type of answer spirit gave. In a group setting they should also be willing to provide the answer in a way that allows for decorum if needed, such as writing it down or providing it in a way that only the intended person receives it.

Remember honesty is the best policy with spiritual readings of any kind. If the person doesn’t seem to be honest with you. Trust your feelings on that. Don’t take their reading as fact just because they call themselves a psychic.
Think twice about psychic who only tell you what you want to hear.
It doesn’t take much to tell people what they want to hear and its very easy to learn how to read others in order to do so. Be careful trusting readings that seem to line up perfectly with what you hoped to hear.
Yes, Spirit loves answering your questions. Us psychics do too. But Spirit is often blunt and not afraid to tell you what you NEED to hear even if its not what you expect to hear.
A good reading should have more elements to it than just what you are expecting.
A balance of yeses and nos. If it doesn’t…I suggest questioning it.

Most importantly! Trust your own instincts.

If something feels off about the person or their services, listen to that feeling! Even if the person seems like a great person or the feeling doesn’t logically make sense in the moment.
They may not be a scammer but that’s how your soul alerts you to the person not being right for you.
So don’t try to force it.
Those feelings are there for a reason.
Trust them!
